Glaciers are the defining feature of the North Cascades. The range is home to the greatest concentration of perennial snowfields and alpine glaciers in the contiguous United States.
This route traverses rugged landscapes, connecting some of the highest peaks and most magnificent glaciers in the North Cascades.
This flight is inspired by Fred Becky’s book, “A Range of Glaciers: The Exploration and Survey of the Northern Cascade Range.” A resident of Seattle, Fred is North America’s most celebrated mountaineer. He holds the world’s record for the most first ascents, including many in the North Cascades.
*This is a photography flight. Please bring a camera. (A smartphone is fine.)
Snowking flights are ideal for aerial landscape photography. We will be sensitive to lighting and camera/airplane positioning. Visibility is excellent in all directions, and the passenger can open and close a side window at will for the best possible image quality.
If your flight is canceled due to weather, you can choose to reschedule, receive a full refund, or select a gift card redeemable for a future flight.
We are located on the edge of North Cascades National Park at Mears Field in Concrete, Washington. Our base of operations is the best location for flightseeing in the area. Surrounded by mountains, you’ll enjoy alpine spectacles right after take-off with no aerial commute to the scenery.
Fall colors, emerald lakes, waterfalls, mountain faces loaded with snow–the North Cascades are spectacular in every season.
